ROYAL STANCE
The Royal was the Monarch of the Profit River headwaters area. He grew to reach his prime by outrunning or fighting off the wolf packs and out-smarting the hunters. He bore the scars of many battles defending his harem of cows. The last time I saw the Royal, he was standing in the snow across the river. He stood quietly while I took several pictures. Then. unhurriedly in regal dignity, turned and quietly walked out of sight.
